Getting started with MAS

From creating your account to a live mosque website — every step, in order, with where to go next. You can leave and come back at any time: MAS remembers what is done.

What It Does

MAS (Masjid Application Suite) gives your mosque a website you can edit yourself, plus online donations with Gift Aid, an events calendar and room bookings. This guide walks through the whole journey once, so you always know what comes next and what is still missing.

Where to Find It

  • Your dashboard: /dashboard — sign in and you land here.
  • Your mosque workspace: open it from the dashboard, or from the workspace menu in the header.
  • Your setup guide: the Get started button in the header, and the checklist on your workspace Overview.
  • Help on any screen: the ? menu and the Guides link in the header, and the book button beside each page title. Guides open in a panel beside your work, so you never lose your place.

The Journey at a Glance

  1. Create your account — email and password, an emailed sign-in link, or Google.
  2. Choose a plan — pick a plan and complete checkout.
  3. Create your mosque workspace — your mosque's name and contact email.
  4. Build your website — brand it, add pages from templates, fill in your content and menu.
  5. Preview and publish — check how it looks, then publish your pages.
  6. Add the extras you want — donations, events and bookings are all optional.
  7. Connect your web address — use your free MAS address, or your own domain.
  8. Take your website live — until you do, only your team can see it.

Create Your Account

  1. Select Sign up at the top of the MAS website.
  2. Enter your name, email and a password, or use Sign in with Google.
  3. You arrive on your dashboard.

If you were on your way somewhere when you were asked to sign in — a link from an email, or the website editor — MAS takes you back there afterwards.

Choose a Plan

  1. On the MAS website, open Pricing and choose Monthly or Annual.
  2. Select Get started on the plan you want.
  3. Enter your card details on the checkout page and confirm.
  4. You see a confirmation, then return to your dashboard.

See Choosing a plan & subscribing for what each plan includes.

Create Your Mosque Workspace

Your workspace holds everything for one mosque: its website, donations, events and bookings.

  1. On your dashboard, find Mosque workspaces and choose Create workspace.
  2. Enter your mosque's name and a contact email.
  3. MAS sets up your workspace and a free web address on masjidappsuite.com, and opens your setup guide.

Your Setup Guide

The setup guide is a checklist of everything needed for a finished website, worked out from what your workspace actually holds — so it is always up to date, however you did each thing.

  • Open it from Get started in the header, or the checklist on your workspace Overview.
  • Each item shows how far through it you are, and what is still missing.
  • The ⓘ beside a step says how to do it; Read the full guide opens the right part of the guide beside your work.
  • Items marked Optional can be skipped — you can still launch without them.
  • When every essential step is done, the guide tells you your website is ready to go live.

Build Your Website

Everything happens in your workspace's Website section — no separate editor to sign in to.

  1. Brand your site. Open Branding and set your mosque's name, colours, logo and contact details. These appear across every page.
  2. Create your pages. Choose New page, pick a starter template (Home, About, Services, Donations, Events, Bookings or Contact), and give it a title. MAS fills in a sensible layout.
  3. Add your content. Open a page and edit its blocks — the hero at the top, your services, prayer times, a call to action and so on. Each block opens in a panel on the right; save it and carry on. Reorder blocks with the arrows, or add new ones with Add block.
  4. Set up your menu. Open Menu and choose which pages appear in your site's navigation, and in what order.

See Building your website for every block and option.

Preview and Publish

  1. On a page, choose Preview to see it exactly as visitors will. Preview links are private and expire after 15 minutes.
  2. When the page is right, choose Publish. MAS asks you to confirm you have checked the links, contact details and any donation, event or booking sections.
  3. Publish your Home page first — it is what visitors see at your web address.

You can also schedule a page to publish or unpublish later, from ⋮ → Page settings & schedule.

Add Fundraising, Events and Bookings

These are optional; add them when you are ready.

Once they exist, add the matching block to a page so visitors can use them.

Connect Your Web Address

Your website already has a free address on masjidappsuite.com. To use your own domain (for example yourmosque.org.uk), open Domains & email, add the domain, and follow the DNS steps. You can also send email from your own domain. See Web address & branded email.

Take Your Website Live

Publishing a page does not make your website public — it stays private until an owner or admin takes it live, so you can build in peace.

  1. Open Website and check the Website launch checklist.
  2. When the essentials are ready, choose Take site live and confirm.
  3. Your site is now public at your web address. Pause site takes it offline again at any time, without deleting anything.

Finding Help

  • Guides in the header opens this help centre in a panel beside your work.
  • The ? menu has the guide for the screen you are on, this getting-started guide and your setup checklist.
  • The ⓘ icons beside settings explain them in a sentence or two.
  • Still stuck? Choose Contact the MAS team in the ? menu.

Tips

  • Work through the setup guide in order the first time — each step builds on the one before.
  • You can leave at any point. The setup guide and the trail of where you have been are waiting when you come back.
  • Use Back on the trail (or the pills down the left on a wide screen) to return exactly where you were, rather than your browser's back button.

Troubleshooting

  • I cannot see Create workspace. You need an active plan first, and one plan covers one workspace. Check your plan on the dashboard.
  • The website editor asks me to sign in. Sign in with your normal MAS account — there is no separate editor account. You return to the editor afterwards.
  • My changes are not on the public site. Check the page is published and the website is live. Draft changes only show in preview.
